Such a big girl!

Substantial. Healthy. Solid. All these are terms we've heard used to refer to Aslyn and her size for her age. Mind you, she's not fat by any means, she's just very large for being only 11 months old. We took her in to the doctor to have a rash looked at this last week and she weighed in at a whopping 25lbs. That's almost 3 pounds gain since December. No wonder I(Rachel) had my first ever visit to a chiropractor this month-that's a lot of weight to lug around. We'll all be glad when she finally starts walking and can carry her own load around!

Aslyn on Valentine's Day

Look what I found in the pantry!

Having oh so much fun trying on clothes.

Grandpa and Grandma Byers came for a quick visit this month and brought out a special gift for Aslyn from friends in Missouri. It's a Civil War era rocking chair that's been refinished. Just the perfect size for Aslyn.

We got bikes, helmets and a seat for Aslyn for Christmas and recently took advantage of a nice weekend to ride up on the aquaduct behind our house. Aslyn loved riding, in fact, she went to sleep the second day we tried it.

Not to be left behind was Peanut, who I carried in a basket behind my seat. She absolutely hated it and whined the whole time like she was being tortured. It was embarassing. If anyone has any ideas how to make her feel more secure, we'd appreciate the feedback. She is secured with a harness so she can't fall out but she's not so sure about the whole thing. Maybe it's my biking skills....We hope to take her camping with us and to do some biking and were hoping that she would enjoy it but so far she is not pleased.

When I was a kid I used to take my wiener dog out for bike rides in a backpack stuffed with blankets... and her little head could pop out the top. :)
