One fine and very warm day in September it finally arrived: Moving Day! Aslyn had been waiting for this day for over a month. She'd fallen in love with the new house we'd bought and affectionately named it the "Snail House" based on the slimy little creature attached to the brick wall out front. She couldn't wait to move and above all things, ride in the moving truck. At last, it was here.
Sitting in her beloved truck...for quite some time I might add.
Whatcha doing daddy?
The infamous piano and the brave who helped move it.(It's all cast iron inside and VERY heavy.)
What would we have done without this headless fellow who hoisted very heavy loads as if they were as light as pillows? THANK YOU TOM! =)
Moving in style. Thanks for the lift guys! I'm sure you needed an extra 70lbs to carry!
Our little moving queen in the truck at last.
Off we go with the first load.
What's a moving day without a pizza lunch...and a bike helmet on your head? =)
Now for the process. Here are some of our faithful helpers. Shavonn got to help make the dramatic transformation from orange to beige in the front room.
Papa putting on the new door locks.
And yes, we did flooring too. Our initials in the Master bedroom before the laminate went down.
Some of the lovely gunk we cleaned out of one of the bathrooms. "Dirty" doesn't do justice to some of the rooms in the house before we cleaned them.
Dinner at the round table in the still orange room. Oh the memories!
Conner gets in on the action.
My faithful helping friend. What would I have done without you?? =)
The boys hard at work on the laminate.
Our cutie in the closet. She wanted to help paint so badly... Doesn't everyone kid need a picture like this?
So that's what we've been doing for the last month in a nutshell. Lots of painting, flooring, moving, unpacking. And we all love the Snail House, especially Aslyn.
