How Time Flies!

Somehow, we're coming up on the four week anniversary of Aslyn's birth. Where does time go and how does it pass so quickly? These last few weeks have been filled with family visits, a trip to the doctor, and LOTS of eating and sleeping. Aslyn also made her debut at church and went for her first trip out with mom to the grocery store.

Aslyn went for her 2 week checkup on April 9th and we were all surprised at her weight gain. She not only was back up to her birthweight(7lb, 11oz), but had made it all the way up to 8lbs, 8oz. She had also grown a little and was up to 21.5 inches in length. I guess when you eat every 3 hours that can happen! Grandpa & Grandma Byers came to visit for a week and were quite taken with their new grandaughter.

Aslyn got lots of hugs and kisses and plenty of lap time, though Peanut made sure there was enough room for her in the mix as well.

Aslyn celebrated her first Easter by going to church for the first time. She was formally "introduced" to the congregation and received a rose and beautiful baby blanket made by one of the older ladies in the church. Later we ate a delicious ham dinner made by Grandma Byers.

A few days later, Aunt Lindsay flew in to check out her new niece. We had a relaxing weekend with her and she too gave her approval of Aslyn and was tempted to throw in the towel at CSU and become a live in nanny.

Sleep has never been so precious and elusive. Catnaps are a must and we are learning each day about the new normal of life with a newborn. Aslyn continues to be a good baby, very mellow in personality, and full of goofy grins and expressions. Here are some random candids from the last few weeks...
