We recently returned from a weeklong camping trip in the mountains of Utah with our family from Colorado. It was a great time and we had lots of fun together.
Aslyn and Noah and yes, Peanut. She got to go on this camping trip and was in doggie heaven with all the chipmunks running around.
Mommy and Aslyn trying to catch a fish. We had a nice time together but didn't catch anything. Of course, its a little hard to when the pole is constantly moving. Maybe next time. She was content to play with the sparkly garlic marshmallows and find treasures in the rocks.
Grandma Retha brought construction paper and scissors and made a squirrel with Aslyn one afternoon.
Noah coming out of the camper. He loved the stairs and was up and down them many a time during the course of the week.
Time with Billy's grandparents.
Noah and Papa Bill. Each morning it was a race to get the first child awake out of the trailer before he/she awoke the other one. Sure was nice to have grandparents outside and waiting for them.
Aslyn laughing as Grandma Clark wears her ladybug hat.
A happy Grandma and her two breakfast charges. We ate super well thanks to Papa Bill and his dutch oven cooking.
Aslyn's "castle" as she called this pile of rocks someone had made. We made many trips down behind the campsite to her castle.
Noah and some quiet reading time with Grandma.
Happy Peanut. Each evening she would come to the campfire looking for a warm lap to snuggle in.
Ahhh...frisbee. The kids love it.
Even when you change the way its played with and it becomes something you roll.
Happy little camper.
Peanut and Aslyn on one of our many walks.
Aslyn and Peanut checking out the water.
Mommy and Noah
It's great to have grandparents with freezers in their campers to bring yummy ice cream treats.
Grandpa Clark was the firemaster and took care of grilling the shish-ka-bobs and making our evening campfires.
Special time with Grandpa Clark.
Grandma Clark brought the kids each a book and special toy. Noah loved his little white doggie.
Can you say dirty? Oh my!
There's that warm lap Peanut was always looking for in the evening.
This picture does more justice to the term "dirty."
Buddies.
The boys hard at work cooking hot dogs.
That's all folks. We had a great time, but camping in the woods for 5 nights definitely makes a person appreciate their nice soft bed and a warm shower by the time you get home. It was about an 8 hour trip for us and on the way home we were telling Aslyn to look out her window at all the shiny buildings in Las Vegas. She looked for a little bit and then asked, "Mommy, does Jesus live up there," pointing at the top of one of the shiny gold buildings. No honey. Not quite. =)

Wow!! She would make my boys so proud with that dirty face. Job well done, Aslyn!
Oh my goodness. Looks like so much fun! I miss camping! And I LOVE the dirty face on Aslyn. Kids are simply meant to get dirty sometimes.
