Fire, Destruction, Grandparents and a Hot Dog Jesus

From 2011-05-15
One can only imagine having fire, destruction, grandparents, hot dogs and Jesus sharing a single post on a blog, but here you go. =) On Saturday we attended the annual Fire Service Day here in town. The weather was great and the kids had so much fun, especially Noah. He was in fire truck heaven.

They dressed up in firefighter garb before getting to spray the hose.

Big boots they got to try on.

On to destruction. We're in the process of putting on a back patio and borrowed a jack hammer last week. It was pretty cool stuff; even Peanut had to get a close look at what was going on.

Once scoop at a time. Moving a bunch of sand with Papa Miller, as Noah calls my dad.

Lots of little loads and one happy boy.

Grandma hit the jackpot when she bought little magnetic fishing poles for the kids. They've had a LOT of fun with them.

What a dog looks like when it rolls in your outdoor fireplace. Let's just say she's not always the brightest dog and that she got an extra bath this day.

Last but not least, Aslyn's hot dog Jesus. Partway through lunch one day the week after Easter she calls me over all excited. "Look mommy! I made Jesus on the cross."

Hot Dog Jesus got my attention! And indeed, that's what it is! I think you have an artist on your hands....a Christian Picassa? =)
