Camping

Here's that cute little cowgirl shot again. I just couldn't resist putting it in twice. After Billy headed back to work in California, Aslyn and I stayed in Colorado for an extra week with my parents. We started things off by going camping on the Uncompahgre Plateau. It was beautiful and Aslyn loved it.

My dad fashion a "pony ride" out of an Aspen tree that decided to grow sideways. Aslyn loved to bounce up and down on the tree as you'll see below.

We took several walks and found all sorts of neat sticks and flowers. Several large herds of cows and their calves were in the area and Aslyn liked seeing them run around and bellow at the dog. She's working on perfecting her own "moo." It's not quite up to her pig snort standards but it's still pretty cute.

Aslyn with yet another hat. She quickly commandeered grandpa's cowboy hat and two campfire lighters(yes, they were child safe!). We thought it looked like she had two pistols in her hands and was staking out the perimeter.

During nap time we had a large rainstorm roll through and wake us up. Thunder is always so wonderful(and LOUD!) in the mountains . We came out of the camper and Aslyn somehow noticed that many small puddles had formed in the rocks about 50 yards away. "WaWa, WaWa" So off we went to stomp in the puddles.

Just how wet did she get?

Splat!

Jake, my parents lab did really well with Aslyn despite the fact that his tail swing was a little vigorous and just at the right height to smack her in the face every time he came near. Aslyn loved him though and thought that throwing balls or sticks to him was pretty cool stuff.
