Family and Friend Visits..

The trip home to Colorado wouldn't be complete without some visits with family and friends we rarely get to see. We spent part of an afternoon with Billy's Great Aunt Joyce. Aslyn had a great time with all the animals around her house, both real and stuffed.

It took Aslyn awhile to figure out that this was actually a stuffed cat. Cardboard form and hair?? It's very real looking. She wasn't too bothered by it though and was soon bending over to give it her typical head bow and kisses.

Another afternoon was spent with Billy's grandparents at their place. We were able to take a nice ride through their old fields together on the four wheeler.

We had breakfast with a set of close family friends that I, Rachel have known for years on one of the last mornings that Billy was still in town. Russ and Agnes are very special people and we had a lot of fun introducing them to Aslyn and seeing them one last time before they move out East to be with their son.

Last but not least, for those of you who have been in our home or heard our engagement story, here's another picture with Scott McInnis, the former Congressman who helped Billy arrange to ask for my hand in marriage on the balcony of the speaker of the house in DC. It's been almost 8 years, and two kids later(yes, there's one on the way), we thought it would be fun to have another photo taken with him. Billy's parents had a huge BBQ the first Sunday afternoon we were there and Scott was among the 75 people or so who came to see us. Thanks Byers for a fun afternoon.
